White Selected To Play In NEISL All-Star Game Sunday Afternoon At Harvard

Buzzards Bay, Mass. --  Massachusetts Maritime senior back Jon White has been selected to play in the 2010 New England Inter-Regional Soccer League (NEISL) All-Star Game on Sunday, November 28th at Harvard University’s Solider Field Soccer Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m. EST.

A native of Lynnfield, Mass. and a graduate of Lynnfield High School, White is one of eight players representing the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference in this year’s contest, which features outstanding seniors from all divisions across New England.

White earned first team all-MASCAC honors for his performance this season on the field and was tabbed to the ESPN Academic All-District Team for his efforts in the classroom by the College Sports Information Directors of America.  White anchored Head Coach Greg Perry’s defensive unit as a team co-captain and added a pair of goals in 16 starts this fall, including the game-winning tally in a 3-1 season-opening triumph at Mount Ida on September 1st.  In the classroom, the International Maritime Business major has posted a 3.77 cumulative grade point average while serving as Executive Officer in the Academy’s Regiment of Cadets.

Massachusetts Maritime matched its win total of the 2009 campaign with seven overall victories this fall in Perry’s 18th season at the helm, as the Buccaneers were 3-1-1 down the stretch, including the program’s first victory over Bridgewater State in 19 years back on October 23rd and a 1-1 double overtime draw with eventual MASCAC tournament champion Salem State in the season finale on October 29th.
