Lampros Named As MASCAC Football Special Teams Player Of The Week

Massachusetts Maritime freshman kicker George Lampros was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week on Sunday for his efforts in the Buccaneers’ 34-25 victory at Maine Maritime in the 45th Annual Admiral’s Cup yesterday afternoon.

A native of Bridgewater, Mass. and a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School, Lampros connected on his first two career field goal attempts from 34 and 39 yards out while converting all four PAT’s in the triumph.  George averaged 54.8 yards on six kickoff attempts as well for the Buccaneers, and he averaged 34 yards on four punts in the contest as well.

Head Coach Jeremy Cameron’s squad, which stands at 1-1 overall after winning the Admiral’s Cup for the fifth time in seven years, opens MASCAC play next Saturday afternoon when Massachusetts Maritime visits Framingham State for a league clash that kicks off at Noon EDT at Bowditch Field in Framingham, Mass.
