Crew Squads Record Trio Of Solid Finishes At Quinsigamond Snake Regatta

WORCESTER, Mass. --  Both Massachusetts Maritime crew squads enjoyed another day of solid competition against boats from all divisions on Saturday afternoon at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta that took place in good conditions on Lake Quinsigamond.

 

The Buccaneer women’s varsity four comprised of freshman coxswain Heather Gaughan (Scituate, Mass.) along with senior Brianna Caissie (Webster, Mass.), sophomores McKenzie Hartman (Sudbury, Mass.) and Cat Swan (Ashland, Ohio) as well as freshman Hana Haskell (Fairhaven, Mass.), finished 21st in the event with a time of 21:30.8, as New Hampshire claimed the top spot in the final team standings.

 

Massachusetts Maritime’s men’s varsity four consisting of junior coxswain Ethan Logan (Vernon, Conn.) along with fellow juniors Timothy O’Neill (Block Island, R.I.), Tyler Vito (Foxboro, Mass.) and Patrick Wall (West Roxbury, Mass.) as well as sophomore Cyrus Bastarache (Middleboro, Mass.), finished 24th overall with a time of 18:12.49 in the event that was won by Vermont.

 

The Buccaneer men’s novice eight competed for the first time this season, as freshman coxswain Alexander Amadeo (Woburn, Mass.) guided fellow freshmen Quincy Smith (Hingham, Mass.), Nicholas Mirabile (Bedford, N.H.), John Carey (Braintree, Mass.), Seth Lapriore (Somerset, Mass.), Joseph Tragert (Ipswich, Mass.), Jacob Awalt (Harwich, Mass.), Eric Higgins (Marshfield, Mass.) and William Nolan (Braintree, Mass.) to a seventh place finishing time of 18:14.86 in a race that was captured by Wentworth.

 

Both Buccaneer squads close out their respective fall schedules in two weeks on Saturday, October 28th by competing at the Brandeis Halloween Regatta that begins at 9:00 a.m.
