Crew Squads Enjoy Solid Performances At Head Of The Housatonic Regatta

SHELTON, Conn. --  Both Massachusetts Maritime crew teams posted solid performances against competition from all divisions at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta that took place Saturday afternoon at Indian Well State Park.

 

The Buccaneer women’s varsity four comprised of freshman coxswain Heather Gaughan (Scituate, Mass.) along with senior Brianna Caissie (Webster, Mass.), sophomores McKenzie Hartman (Sudbury, Mass.) and Cat Swan (Ashland, Ohio) as well as freshman Hana Haskell (Fairhaven, Mass.), finished fourth in the event with a time of 21:27.3, as New York University took top honors in the race.

 

Massachusetts Maritime’s men’s varsity four consisting of junior coxswain Ethan Logan (Vernon, Conn.) along with fellow juniors Nathanael Costa (Forestdale, Mass.), Tyler Vito (Foxboro, Mass.) and Patrick Wall (West Roxbury, Mass.) as well as sophomore Cyrus Bastarache (Middleboro, Mass.), finished 15th overall with a time of 18:15.6 in the event that was won by Boston College.

 

Both Buccaneer squads return to action next Saturday morning by heading to Worcester, Mass. to compete in the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta that begins at 9:00 a.m.
