NEWTON, Mass. --  Both Massachusetts Maritime crew squads closed out their respective fall campaigns on a high note on Saturday afternoon, as the Buccaneers combined for a trio of top two performances in competition at the Brandeis Halloween Regatta on the Charles River.

The Buccaneer women’s varsity four took top honors in its race, as the tandem of senior coxswain James Lucenta (Yorktown, Va.), seniors Rochelle Gaudette (Fall River, Mass.) and Colleen LeFavor (Mashpee, Mass.), sophomore Olivia Swenson (Centerville, Mass.) and freshman Paige Decker (Nantucket, Mass.) posted a winning time of 20:08.1 to best runner-up Roger Williams by 11 seconds.

Massachusetts Maritime’s men’s varsity four consisting of coxswain Decker, senior Anthony Bratica (Milford, Mass.), sophomores Nathanael Costa (Forestdale, Mass.) and Timothy O’Neill (Block Island, R.I.) and freshman Edward Dunn (Acton, Mass.) posted a runner-up time of 16:49.3 in its race, which Roger Williams claimed with just over a minute’s difference separating the two vessels.

The Buccaneer men’s novice four also finished second in its event, as the tandem of freshman coxswain Tyler Stiff (Westminster, Md.) and fellow freshmen Charles Malone (Media, Pa.), Cyrus Bastarache (Middleboro, Mass.), Prometheus Molony (Catasauqua, Pa.) and Gregory Couse (Sewell, N.J.) posted a time of 16:38.2 over the course, as Roger Williams edged out a 46 second triumph in a race that saw the host Judges finish third.
