Crew Squads Record Solid Performances At World Renowned Head Of The Charles Regatta

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  Both Massachusetts Maritime crew teams had solid performances at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday afternoon on the Charles River against some of the top colleges from around the world.

 

The Buccaneer women’s collegiate four, which was comprised of junior coxswain James Lucenta (Yorktown, Va.), juniors Laura Hahn (Colchester, Conn.) and Cassandra Charpentier (New Bedford, Mass.) along with sophomores Christina Brennan (Halifax, Mass.) and Brianna Caissie (Webster, Mass.), finished 35th overall with a time of 26:05.21, while the Buccaneer men’s collegiate four comprised of senior coxswain James Belbin (Carver, Mass.), seniors Ryan Skavis (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and Andrew Murphy (Randolph, Mass.) as well as juniors Anthony Bratica (Milford, Mass.) and James Coburn (Higganum, Conn.), placed 43rd in the competition with a time of 19:49.04.

 

Both Massachusetts Maritime squads will travel to South Hadley, Mass. next Saturday morning to compete at the Amherst Fall Invitational on the Connecticut River beginning at 9:00 a.m.
