Men's Crew Competes In Prestigious Head Of The Charles Regatta Over Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--  The Massachusetts Maritime men’s crew team competed at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday afternoon, as the Buccaneers raced against top squads from around the world in the event.

 

Junior James Belbin (Carver, Mass.) served as coxswain in the club fours along with fellow juniors Andrew Murphy (Randolph, Mass.) and Ryan Skavis (Shrewsbury, Mass.) as well as sophomores Anthony Bratica (Milford, Mass.) and James Coburn (Higganum, Conn.).  Massachusetts Maritime placed 48th overall in the event, besting Endicott and a vessel from Coast Guard along the way in competition that attracts over 11,000 athletes and nearly half a million spectators each year.

 

Both Buccaneer squads close out their respective fall campaigns next Saturday morning by heading to South Hadley, Mass. for the Amherst Fall Invitational that begins at 9:00 a.m.
