The Team that Teehan has signed with, the Harwich Mariners, were founded in 1930 and have won Cape League Championships as recently as 2008 and 2011. The current Harwich roster features players from the University of Florida, Wake Forest, LSU, Virginia, Tennessee and now, Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

"Signing with Harwich is great for John. It shows that his hard work is being noticed at Maritime and in the Park League in Boston." Said head coach Mike Kelley. "An experience like this can only help John's growth as a pitcher in our program." Added Kelley.

In 2019, Teehan made 12 appearances for head coach Mike Kelley and the Buccaneers. He started nine games and posted a 3-4 record on the bump. In 52.2 innings John struck out 60 hitters and posted a 4.27 ERA while throwing four complete games. In his career, the soon to be junior, has a 7-7 record, 3 saves and 123 strikeouts in 109.0 innings pitched. Prior to signing with the Mariners, Teehan was playing for the Parks League, a summer league in the Boston area.

"I'm excited for this opportunity with the Mariners organization and look forward to sharing a dugout with some of the best division one players from around the country." Said Teehan. "The team was looking for pitching staff depth and I am grateful that they contacted me to help them with that. I want to thank my coach, Mike Kelley, Harwich manager Steve Englert and General Manager Ben Layton for facilitating this opportunity."

Teehan will join the Mariners on Tuesday and will wear #11 for the club. There is a chance that Teehan could pitch for Harwich on Tuesday night against Brewster if they win game one of their doubleheader against Orleans.
