Bucs Place 79 on All-Academic, Five for Fourth Time

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association announced its Spring All-Academic Team, and a whopping 79 Buccaneer athletes were listed. In total, cadets from eight sports were honored, with at least four men and four women in each. Men’s lacrosse claimed the most honorees, as 17 players were tabbed for the list.

Buccaneer baseball may have finished for the year, but the Academy's Hendy Field has not seen its last post-season game of the year. MMA will host the MIAA Division III South Semi-Final between local high schools Dennis-Yarmouth and Falmouth on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Parking is available on-site.

Hunt, Rouette Honored as 2017-18 Athletes of the Year

At the annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Senior Student-Athlete Award Night, Stephanie Hunt and Mick Rouette were announced as the 2017-18 Players of the Year after stellar four-year careers for the Buccaneers. Seven other awards were also given out as part of the evening.

Slugging Sullo Named D3Baseball All-New England

As one of the most storied careers in recent Buccaneer baseball comes to an end, the honors keep pouring in for Logan Sullo. The senior catcher was tabbed to the D3Baseball.com All-New England Region Second Team today on the heels of a record-setting 2018 campaign.

The University of Massachusetts Boston highlights a list of eight universities—including four from New England—that will be fighting for a single spot at the NCAA Division III World Series. The New England Regional, hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, drew the tournament champions from seven different conferences, including three teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally.

Teehan Is MASCAC Rookie, Four Named All-Conference

Buccaneer Baseball capped off an exciting 2018 season with a series of awards from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, headlined by Rookie of the Year John Teehan. Teehan was joined on the All-Conference First Team by Logan Sullo, while Connor Kennedy and Casey Furnas were tabbed to the MASCAC Second Team.

Ashburn and Haley Strong as Bucs’ Season Ends

For the second playoff game in-a-row, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy baseball team featured strong starting pitching and longball power, but once more, the combination was not enough as the Buccaneers were eliminated from the MASCAC Baseball Championship with a 6-4 loss to Salem State University. The Academy’s IX will conclude their season at 18-15.

Teehan Out-Pitched in MASCAC Quarterfinals

John Teehan and Kyle Hodgson matched zeroes for the first five innings of the MASCAC Baseball Championship Quarterfinal at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, but Framingham State University scored in the final four innings to win 10-1. The Buccaneers are down to their final game of the season in tomorrow’s semifinal matchup with Salem State University.

John Teehan and Nick Haley earned MASCAC plaudits this week after their performances for Massachusetts Maritime Academy baseball during the week of April 22. The pair of underclassmen were tabbed for the conference’s weekly Honor Roll, the eighth and ninth weekly winners for the Conference Co-Champion Buccaneers.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the bracket for its Baseball Championship, and Massachusetts Maritime Academy will receive a first-round bye before playing its first tournament game at home on Friday. It is the third time that the Bucs won a share of the conference title.

Simone Homers Win Hendy Field Grand Re-Opening Thrillers

Jackson Simone homered on both ends of a thrilling doubleheader, and freshmen Mason Ashburn and John Teehan pitched superb games as Massachusetts Maritime Academy celebrated the Grand Re-Opening of Hendy Field with a pair of 2-1 victories over Worcester State University. The Buccaneers end the regular season in second place to Westfield State University despite identical records.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy will celebrate the Grand Re-Opening of the Commodore William R. Hendy Baseball Field on Saturday, April 28, at 11:40 a.m. The diamond’s history already includes three conference championships by the Buccaneers and was the home of the Cape Cod League’s Bourne Braves for a decade. Now featuring a new all-turf surface, Hendy Field is poised to play an even more significant role in south-eastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod baseball as it begins a new chapter.

Sullo Sets Maritime Home Run Record in 10-4 Win

Logan Sullo set the all-time Massachusetts Maritime Academy career home run record as the Buccaneers put on one of their most complete offensive performances of the year in a 10-4 victory over visiting Wentworth Institute of Technology. Brian Kwedor tossed a complete game as the Bucs prepared for the final push for a MASCAC title.

Haley’s Game-Winning Homer, Smith’s Shutout Put Bucs in First

Matt Smith tossed a shutout in game one and Casey Furnas delivered on the offensive end set up Nick Haley, who give the Mass Maritime Academy baseball team a MASCAC sweep of Bridgewater State University with a game-inning home run in the nightcap. The 2-0, 5-3 wins moved the Buccaneers into a tie for first place in the conference with one series remaining. Game One

Bucs Walk Off in Senior Day Nightcap

John Gegetskas turned in another dominant performance on his way to MASCAC Pitcher of the Year as Westfield State claimed game one of a conference doubleheader before the Buccaneers took a split in the Senior Day MASCAC doubleheader thanks to an unusual walk off play.

Baseball’s Skid Continues at Framingham

The Framingham State University baseball team belted three homeruns as the Rams swept a MASCAC doubleheader with Massachusetts Maritime Academy by scores of 7-1 and 6-2 this afternoon at Bowditch Field.
