Sullivan Named To 2011 MASCAC Baseball First Team All-Conference Squad

Massachusetts Maritime sophomores Zachary Sullivan and Janelle Beaulieu were named today to their respective 2011 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball and Softball all-conference teams as announced by league Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Sullivan, a native of Barnstable, Mass. and a graduate of Barnstable High School, was named as a first-team designated hitter by the MASCAC coaches, as he paced Head Coach Bob Corradi’s Buccaneers at the plate with a .329 batting average to go with a homer, four doubles and 17 RBI.  Massachusetts Maritime posted 11 overall victories this spring in Corradi’s 39th season at the helm, as the Buccaneers defeated three of the four squads that are competing in this weekend’s conference championships.

Beaulieu, a resident of Buzzards Bay, Mass. and a graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy, was named as a first-team utility player by the league’s coaches, as she started all 22 games she appeared in and played seven different positions during the course of the spring under first-year Head Coach Lindsay DeStefano.  Beaulieu recorded a .265 batting average at the plate with a team-best 10 runs scored, and she struck out 27 in 57 innings of work inside the circle for the Buccaneers.
