Bio

Hendy Jr., whose father and three sons also attended MMA, is a Sandwich native who went on to serve the Academy for 30 more years. As a cadet he was an outstanding baseball player, but he played a far more important role in the school's evolution. As a teacher and administrator, Hendy served as the Academy's Executive vice president, where he played a key part in the progression from a three-year school to a fully-accredited four-year college. He was instrumental in advancing the physical construction of the campus, including Alumni Gym and the adjacent playing fields. In tribute to his efforts, the Academy named its baseball field after Hendy shortly after his death in 1991.
