Bio

Richard Covel '67 was captain of the 1966 MMA soccer team and a Colonial League All-Star as an undergraduate. His love of the game has kept him involved in soccer at many levels throughout his life. He was a prime mover in the establishment of the Norwell Youth Soccer Program in 1983 and remained involved until 1991. He has remained active as a player in the New England Over The Hill Soccer League, playing in approximately 750 matches and scoring over 200 goals in 48 years. Rich Covel earned his J. D. degree from New England School of Law in 1975 and serves as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Dynamics Research Corporation of Andover. In 2006 he was appointed to the MMA Board of Trustees and has been a solid supporter of MMA Athletics and a strong proponent of athletics as an integral part of college life. As a member of the Trustees Committee on Student Life he played a significant role in support of the Academy’s new, 155,000 square-foot artificial playing and practice fields.
