Cameron Named Assistant Director of Athletics

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass – Earlier this month, Director of Athletics Michael Kelley named head football coach Jeremy Cameron the newest Assistant Director of Athletics within the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Athletic Department, joining Marushka Eddy as a fellow Assistant Director of Athletics.

Coach Cameron has been the head football coach at Maritime for 14 years and is the second longest tenured coach In the MASCAC.  The 1997 graduate of Springfield College came to the Academy in 2005 as the head football coach and has an integral part of the team's and the athletic department's success since the moment he stepped on campus.

"Jeremy knows what it means to be a Buccaneer." Said AD Mike Kelley. "In his time at Massachusetts Maritime he has worked tirelessly to improve our football team and department as a whole. His work with admissions and other departments on campus make him a natural choice for the Assistant Director of Athletics Position." Added Kelley.

In his 14 seasons as head football coach, Cameron has had 48 Student-Athletes, to date, earn MASCAC All-Conference honors and three that have earned All-New England accolades. His commitment to the overall development of student-athletes at Maritime is evidences by dozens of players earning conference All-Academic honors.

"I am excited to take on this new role within the athletic department at Maritime. I am a strong believer in the Buccaneer way and have been since I came to the Academy in 2005." Said Coach Cameron. "We are always striving for excellence academically and athletically."

Jeremy will continue in the role of head football coach as he finished his 14th season and will begin his 15th in 2019.

Cameron resides in Sagamore Beach, Mass with his wife, Katie, who is the Head Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Coach at Bryant University, and their three children.
